Important information on the Climate-friendly Construction promotional programme

The Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB) has provided KfW with budget funds for offering reduced interest rates and grants in the "Climate-friendly Construction" promotion programme. These funds are exhausted. KfW is therefore no longer accepting applications for this programme until further notice.

Since its launch on 1 March 2023, over 18,000 loans and grants with a total volume of around EUR 7.5 billion have been approved for private individuals, companies and municipalities. In total, around 1,000 new climate-friendly non-residential buildings and around 46,000 new climate-friendly residential units* that fall below specific limits for greenhouse gas emissions in their life cycle and meet the energy standard of an Efficiency House 40 for new buildings have been financed to date.

Existing commitments are not affected by the application freeze and can still be called up. All applications received by KfW up to and including 13 December 2023 are also not affected.

Currently, it is planned to resume the promotion of new climate-friendly buildings at the beginning of 2024.
