Launch of the RegioInnoGrowth Saarland programme

With the new “RegioInnoGrowth Saarland” (RIG) regional programme, Saarland, in cooperation with Saarländische Investitionskreditbank AG, is providing start-ups and small, growth-oriented SMEs with innovative business models with further ways to secure their financing. A total of EUR 23.6 million of venture and equity capital is available for the companies. The total promotional amount is made up of funds from Saarländische Wagnisfinanzierungsgesellschaft mbH (SWG), Saarländische Investitionskreditbank AG (SIKB) and the German Future Fund.

RegioInnoGrowth was launched in August 2023 by the German Federal Government and KfW as a new component in the Future Fund. It is the first component to be implemented in cooperation with the federal states and their promotional institutions. As an implementation of the offering in Saarland, the RegioInnoGrowth Saarland regional programme is intended to support innovative entrepreneurs and young start-ups in the future and offer them the best possible framework conditions. Innovative companies can receive up to EUR 1 million per company in promotion. Community interest companies and start-ups implementing social innovations can also submit applications for the new promotional offer.

KfW is entering into its eighth cooperation at state level with Saarland in the RegioInnoGrowth Future Fund component.

“RegioInnoGrowth Saarland is a pioneering programme for strengthening the innovative capacity and competitiveness of companies based in Saarland. At the same time, it is a testament to the long-standing successful partnership between KfW and SIKB. Innovative projects and ideas will receive even stronger support in the future through the targeted promotion of young companies by the German Federal Government and the states,”

said Katharina Herrmann, Executive Board Member of KfW responsible for domestic business.
