Christoph Johnscher becomes the new Head of IT at KfW Group

Christoph Johnscher (50) will become Head of one of the IT departments as of 1 April 2025 and will be responsible for IT at KfW together with Jörg Menzel (58). The “two departments – OneIT” model with a strong management duo has proven itself very well for consistent internal digital further development and will be continued.

Johnscher has been with KfW since 2002 and has taken on various management positions since then. Most recently, he headed the IT Security and Compliance Department for around five years. Melanie Kehr, Member of the KfW Executive Board responsible for this area, commented:

“Christoph Johnscher is reinforcing KfW IT’s management duo with his extensive experience – not just in IT security. Over many years, he has been an effective contributor to the transformation of KfW’s IT. I wish Christoph and Jörg every success in their future tasks as the heads of IT.”

Johnscher succeeds Cecilia Fernandez de Cordova Carvajal. Fernandez de Cordova Carvajal left KfW by mutual agreement, as her personal situation has changed, and she wants to do more technical work in the future. KfW’s Executive Board thanks her for her successful work in managing the IT department and wishes her all the best for her private and professional future.
