KfW heating system replacement subsidy: Digital submission of proof now available for other private and corporate customers

KfW is implementing the next step of the promotional roadmap for the promotion of heating systems, as planned. Starting 27 March 2025, the following customer groups who have received a grant commitment from KfW for the transition to climate-friendly heating and already implemented this measure can also use the customer portal “Meine KfW” to digitally submit the evidence required for the review and disbursement.

  • residential and non-residential building companies,
  • owners of rented single-family houses, and
  • owners of rented and self-occupied apartments in housing associations in the case of measures on special property

Once KfW has positively reviewed the supporting documents and the eligibility requirements, the grant is transferred to the grant recipient’s bank account. This usually takes place by the end of the month following the review of the evidence provided at the latest.

The following applies in general: The promotional funds are reserved and binding for all customers who have received a grant commitment from KfW to promote the replacement of their heating system. They have 36 months from the commitment date to implement the measure. For the funding to be paid out, the required proof must be submitted to KfW digitally within six months of completion of the implementation of the measures.

In the final step of the funding roadmap, municipalities are expected to be able to submit evidence digitally in the "Meine KfW" customer portal starting from June 2025. By the middle of the year, all private, commercial and municipal customer groups will have access to a fully digital, largely automated online process for applying for, approving, submitting and checking heating system replacement subsidies.
