KfW Board of Supervisory Directors appoints Ms Katharina Herrmann as Member of the Executive Board of KfW Group
- Responsibility for domestic promotional business
- Appointment for three years until April 2026
The KfW Board of Supervisory Directors appointed Ms Katharina Herrmann as Member of the Executive Board of KfW Group for three years with effect from 8 April 2023. The Chair of the KfW Board of Supervisory Directors, German Federal Minister of Finance Mr Christian Lindner, and the Deputy Chair and German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Dr Robert Habeck, issued this statement following the meeting of the KfW Board of Supervisory Directors on 30 March 2023.
Ms Katharina Herrmann (54), who has held the position of General Manager at KfW Group since 8 April 2022, will now assume responsibility for domestic promotional business on the Executive Board.
Before joining KfW, Katharina Herrmann worked for many years at ING Group, most recently as Head of Platforms and New Business at ING-DiBa AG in Frankfurt (2018 to the end of 2021) and at the same time as Global Head of Platforms and Beyond Banking at ING Group in the Netherlands (2018 to the end of 2020). Prior to that, Ms Herrmann was a member of the Executive Board of ING-DiBa AG in Frankfurt (2011 to 2017) and Chief Executive Officer of ING-DiBa Direktbank Austria (2007 to 2010). Preceding that, she held various senior marketing positions at ING-DiBa AG in Frankfurt from 1998 onwards.
Katharina Herrmann holds a degree in business administration from Wiesbaden University of Applied Sciences and previously trained as a bank clerk at Nassauische Sparkasse, Wiesbaden.
Stefan Wintels, Chief Executive Officer of KfW Group, explained: “I am pleased that Katharina Herrmann is now supporting us as part of the Executive Board team. Germany is facing major societal tasks, and we, as KfW, will contribute to tackling them. Katharina Herrmann is a recognised expert in the field of digital banking and product development. Thanks to her expert opinion and market knowledge, she will rapidly advance the further development of KfW’s domestic promotional business and thus make a significant contribution on KfW’s path to becoming the digital transformation and promotional bank.”
With the appointment of Ms. Herrmann, the Executive Board now once again has equal gender representation.
